Planned Giving
There are many planned giving options for you to consider of how you will leave your legacy
IRA Distribution
If you are 72 or older, you can elect to transfer up to $100,000 a year out of your IRA to DAWN. This donation may have tax advantages. Please check with a Tax professional. The transfer must be made directly to Domestic Abuse Women’s Network from your IRA custodian. The amount transferred counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD).
To make the transfer, contact your IRA custodian and tell them you would like to make a “Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)” to:
Domestic Abuse Women’s Network
PO Box 1449
Kent, WA 98035
The Tax ID number is: 91-1176122
Bequests
A simple way to support DAWN and leave a legacy of hope is through a bequest in your will or living trust.
Bequests to DAWN can be expressed as a dollar amount, a percentage, or all or part of your estate.
If you are ready to include DAWN in your will, you can use this language:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to Domestic Abuse Women’s Network, 221 West Gowe Street, Kent, WA 98035, which has a federal tax id number of 91-1176122, the sum of $______, or _____% of my residuary estate (or describe the specific asset to be gifted).”
You can make a bequest to DAWN by adding a codicil to your will or an amendment to your living trust.
Then, please let us know so we can thank you and share with you how your giving will make a difference for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault!
Gifts of Stock
A gift of appreciated securities is a fruitful investment with a lasting impact.
- If you make a gift of stock that you have owned for more than one year, you can deduct its full fair-market value as a charitable deduction and avoid paying income tax on the long-term capital gain.
- Gifts of marketable stocks or mutual fund shares that have appreciated can have an immediate impact on DAWN’s survivors — and also create immediate tax savings for you.
Life Insurance
Contact your Life Insurance provider about adding DAWN as a beneficiary to your Life Insurance Policy.
