In The Media

In a YouTube video produced by the City of Renton (watch here), the city shines a light on DAWN (Domestic Abuse Women’s Network) and our partnership with local law enforcement during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The video features Gina Finley, Executive Director of DAWN; Tina Harris, Domestic Violence Victim Advocate with the Renton Police Department; and Detective Halley Brus of the Renton Police Department. Together, they emphasize the importance of community collaboration, survivor support, and education in breaking the cycle of domestic violence. The video also includes the city’s official proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, reaffirming Renton’s commitment to fostering a safe, compassionate community for all.

City of SeaTac Human Services Manager Erin Bryant-Thomas chatted with Executive Director Gina Finley and Director of Programming Elba M. about intimate partner violence and the services DAWN provides to South King County to help current and former victims. In this conversation Gina and Elba share information about advocacy, shelter, crisis hotline, and safety planning. DAWN is funded in part by the City of SeaTac.
