What Is Purple Light Nights®?
Purple Light Nights® is a campaign held each October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It encourages communities to shine purple lights to honor victims, support survivors, and raise awareness about domestic violence.
Purple—the symbolic color of domestic violence—represents courage, survival, and hope. Lighting homes, businesses, and public spaces in purple sends a powerful message: domestic violence has no place in our communities.
Walk In Her Shoes® – One Step At A Time
In Her Shoes® is a groundbreaking experiential learning tool that helps participants understand the complex choices faced by people in abusive relationships. It is used in over 900 communities across the United States to educate professionals and the public about domestic violence.
Step into the journey of a domestic violence survivor through our interactive In Her Shoes® experience.
Each week, we’ll release a new chapter of one survivor’s story. You’ll be invited to make choices on her behalf, navigating the real-life challenges many survivors face. These interactive scenarios are based on true experiences and are designed to build empathy, awareness, and understanding.
