$1,000 provides 34 hours of personal support and safety planning
$500 provides 150 students 10 hours of learning about healthy relationships
$150 provides one support group for up to twelve women

DAWN is always in need of items for our emergency shelter and to offer support to domestic violence survivors and their families just starting out on their own. Below is our shelter and program wish list. Some of the items are offered to our families as they leave to help them get established in their new housing.

Other Ways to Donate.
Recycle Used Phones.
The cell phone recycling program is a wonderful way to recycle old and unused cell phones. Donated phones are turned into cash to support programs and services for domestic violence survivors and their families.
Before you donate your cell phone(s), erase any stored information, including your contact list, text messages and listing of incoming/outgoing numbers. Most cell phones use a “master reset” to delete information quickly and easily. Also, verify that your account has been cancelled with your service provider.
You can drop off your used cell phone(s) at most local Police Stations or at DAWN offices at 221 West Gowe Street, Kent, WA (Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm).
Leave a Legacy.
Dawn received an unexpected estate gift. That gift was carefully stewarded by the Board of Directors who had their eye on the longer view. In 2016, a portion of that gift became the down payment that allowed Dawn to purchase a building in downtown Kent. Dawn’s new home, The Center for Peaceful Communities, brought our life-saving services within easy reach of our clients surrounded by our partner agencies.
Legacy giving comes in many forms. These gifts can come from an estate, bequest or other tax planning vehicle allowing the donor to make an even greater impact on those organizations they most value. If you would like to inquire about estate gifts please contact our Director of Finance and Operations or your personal financial planner.

Volunteer.
Are you looking to make an impact in south King County and are passionate about our commitment to rise for peaceful communities? We are always accepting dedicated, inspired volunteers who are excited to learn new skills and utilize their knowledge. The steps to becoming a volunteer are simple even though our programs are competitive.

Note: all volunteers must pass a background check and some additional training may be required.
For our clients: The domestic violence grassroots movement is made possible by the resiliency and collective voices of the survivors we serve. We can recommend you for a volunteer placement after at least six months from the date you last received services in our programs. There are many ways to give back and contribute to supporting survivors within your community.
